I'd like to think I am ...

I'd like to think that I am humble
but I can be so proud.
I'd like to think that I am caring
but I can be so indifferent.
I'd like to think that I am generous
but I can be so selfish.
I'd like to think I am open-minded
but I can be a real bigot.
I'd like to think I am easy to get along with
but I can be a real pain in the ....
I believe that all that I have is but from God
but oftimesI forget this and my EGO takes control!

Lord ...let me not lose hope when Failure comes
help me keep an even keel on things
be with me when things get rough
help me through the storms.
And ...when I have survived the tumultous seas
when in the midst of the cheering crowd
lost in the drunkeness of success
keep me mindful of the storms
let me not forget that ...it was YOU who brought me through.
